On Wednesday 14 May 2025, the municipality of Niederanven officially inaugurated “Place Grand-Duc Henri”, a redeveloped public space in Senningen.

According to the municipal authorities, this is a newly redeveloped public space dedicated to community, culture and in the honour of Luxembourg’s sovereign.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Grand Duke Henri, Luxembourg’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture, Martine Hansen, Mayor of Niederanven Fréd Ternes and members of the municipal council, as well as various local and national representatives and associations.

The official programme included a welcome address by Mayor Fréd Ternes, followed by a musical interlude performed by the Hostert brass band “La Réunion”. Claude Frieseisen, President of the Geschichtsfrënn Nidderaanwen local history association, also gave a speech. Musical contributions continued with performances by Concordia The Voices – Niederanven, the Vocal Ensemble Jubilate Musica and the choirs “Ste Cécile” of Hostert and Ernster

Minister Hansen then addressed those in attendance. A symbolic tree was planted in front of the “Ale Pomjees Schapp Sennegn” museum and the event concluded with the unveiling of an artwork by Luxembourgish artist Jacques Schneider and the “Place Grand-Duc Henri” plaque.
