
The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they recorded a total of 204 violations during a national road safety campaign focused specifically on motorcyclists.
Between 28 March and 27 April 2025, the police conducted checks on the equipment and general technical condition of motorcycles and verified motorcyclists’ documentation.
During the campaign, the police issued thirteen fines for speeding. This included six motorcyclists who received fines of €145 and two penalty points on their driving licences and two whose licences were revoked for speeding.
The police also reported that 33 motorcyclists failed to present the required vehicle registration documents.
40 motorcyclists received fines for non-compliant motorcycle equipment, including exhaust systems, tyres, lighting and licence plates.
35 motorcyclists received fines for dangerous driving (e.g. failure to comply with a stop sign, a red light, road markings and failure to observe a prohibited traffic sign).
Six motorcyclists were also fined for wearing a helmet that did not comply with current standards. The police issued twelve or fines linked to not wearing a mandatory safety vest.
During the same period, 48 drivers were fined for failing to comply with the no-overtaking rules, one driver was fined for ignoring a stop sign and another was fined for using a mobile phone while riding a motorcycle.
The "Moto 2025" campaign is part of the Grand Ducal Police's efforts to reduce the number of accidents on Luxembourg's roads and protect all road users.
The police will continue with checks throughout the season.
