The Grand Ducal Police has reported that two suspects have been arrested concerning a fraud scheme operated in Esch-Alzette.

According to the police, on the evening of Thursday 23 January 2025, a fraud scheme was reported in Esch-Alzette, in which the victim was contacted by an alleged bank employee and asked to provide Luxtrust and bank card details. 

A courier then went to the victim's home address to collect the bank cards. As part of the investigation, the police identified two suspects. 

On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, a search of their homes was carried out, which yielded positive results. The two suspects were then arrested.

the police has issued a reminder that reputable administrations, organisations or companies never ask members of the public to provide one's personal data by telephone or to give it to strangers.
