The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) has released its interim report on calls made to the CSU-112 emergency call centre concerning the bad weather.

As of 05:00 on Thursday 10 October 2024, the centre had received reports of five flooded cellars as well as four trees knocked over or branches broken, including three calls which were transferred to the National Roads Administration.

A red alert for flooding will remain in place across the Grand Duchy until 14:00 on Thursday. MeteoLux and the Water Management Authority (AGE) noted that major flooding was possible, even in areas that rarely flood, and that the safety of people and property was at risk.

The alert is expected to be downgraded to orange from 14:00 to midnight (23:59) on Thursday, with a risk of minor flooding and local damage.

Updates are being made available on the following websites: www.inondations.lu (for flood warnings) and www.meteolux.lu (for weather warnings).

Update: As reported by the CGDIS shortly before 11:00 in its "final" report, the CSU-112 had received calls (between Wednesday and Thursday morning) in relation to a total of twelve flooded cellars, eight knocked down trees or broken branches (seven of which were transferred to the National Roads Administration) and one vehicle "in distress" in a street closed due to flooding.
