The Grand Ducal Police have reported that various arguments, arrests and burglaries took place over the weekend.

Shortly before 07:00 on Sunday 22 September 2024, an argument between four people was reported on Rue Joseph Junk in Luxembourg-Gare. Two police patrols found three people at the scene. One pulled a knife out of his trouser pocket and had to be detained. All three individuals were taken to the police station to clarify the incident. A fourth individual, who had left before the police arrived, was reported to the police station later that morning. Since he had a cut, the emergency services were notified and, after receiving initial treatment on-site, he was taken to hospital for further treatment. The public prosecutor's office was informed and the incident was recorded.

In the early hours of Sunday, a young man caused a disturbance in the Rives de Clausen, whereupon security officers asked him to leave the premises. The man then threatened the agents with a knife and fled. A police patrol was able to catch the troublemaker and took him to the police station. The police considered the drunk and aggressive man to be a danger to himself and others, and so they placed him in the sobering-up cell (drunk tank). The incident was recorded and the knife was confiscated.

Also in the early hours, a violent argument between two people was reported at an event in Troisvierges. A police patrol went to the scene and separated the individuals after they started hitting each other. Both police officers were slightly injured during the intervention and a criminal complaint was filed.

The police also noted that burglaries had been reported in Belair, Erpeldange, Mersch, Schifflange and Niederfeulen.
