On Saturday 21 September 2024, the Grand Ducal Police reported that a manhunt was underway for three suspicious individuals who fled Belgium towards Luxembourg.
At around 14:40 on Saturday, the Belgian police reported a suspicious car in the Belgian border area that was fleeing towards Luxembourg. The car was found a short time later between Büderscheid and Wiltz, in north-western Luxembourg.
At the time of writing, there was still no trace of the occupants and a manhunt had been initiated. According to initial information, there were three people in the car: two men and one woman.
In this context, the police warned the public not to pick up any hitchhikers. The police also urged the public to report any suspicious individuals in the area immediately to the police emergency number 113.
