The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they arrested a suspected drug dealer in Luxembourg-Gare in the early hours of Wednesday 7 August 2024.

Police officers patrolling Place de Paris noticed a man who walked off quickly towards Avenue de la Liberté upon seeing the officers.

However, he was stopped shortly afterwards. During the check, the suspect tried to dispose of an object. The police found that it was a large plastic ball, from which 26 smaller balls of cocaine were seized.

On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the suspected drug dealer was arrested and the drugs and other items relevant to the crime were confiscated. The suspect will be brought before the investigating judge on Wednesday afternoon.

This follows similar incidents recently, for example when a suspected drug dealer was arrested near Place de Paris on the evening of Monday 5 August 2024.
