On Monday 22 July 2024, the Grand Ducal Police confirmed that they had made two arrests in connection with incidents of violent theft and drug dealing in Luxembourg-Gare.
Late last night, a police patrol noticed an injured man at the Place de la Gare. He told the police officers that he had been assaulted shortly after midnight and that cash had been stolen from him through violence. A manhunt was initiated, leading to the identification of a suspect sometime later. By order of the public prosecutor's office, the alleged perpetrator was arrested and brought before the examining magistrate on Monday morning. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
In a separate incident during the same night, Luxembourg police arrested a suspected drug dealer in the Luxembourg-Gare district. The public prosecutor's office ordered the arrest, and the suspect was brought before the examining magistrate on Monday morning. The drugs in his possession were confiscated.
