The Grand Ducal Police have announced that three further drunk driving incidents occurred during the weekend from Saturday 25 to Sunday 26 May 2024.

In the afternoon on Saturday, a police patrol noticed a heavily damaged vehicle driving on Rue du Canal in Esch-sur-Alzette. The vehicle was stopped immediately. Upon checking the driver, the officers detected signs of alcohol consumption. The alcohol test was positive, and the driver's licence was confiscated, the police noted.

On the night of Sunday, at around 02:10, a traffic accident occurred on the CR141, between Wasserbillig and Mompach. According to initial information, the driver lost control of his vehicle in a curve, collided with a road sign and eventually came to a halt in a ditch. The driver was slightly injured and taken to hospital for treatment. An alcohol test was positive, and a report was filed.

Also on the night of Sunday, a police patrol in Esch-sur-Alzette became aware of a vehicle driving erratically near Kayler Poteau in the direction of Neudorf. The vehicle was stopped shortly after. According to the police, the driver showed signs of alcohol consumption during the check. The alcohol test was positive, and the driver's licence was confiscated.
