The Grand Ducal Police have announced details of a fatal road traffic accident in Zolwer, between Esch-sur-Alzette and Zolwer.
The accident happened on Monday 26 February at around 19:25 when a passing vehicle hit a pedestrian on the Rue Aessen. According to initial findings, the pedestrian was hit by the vehicle as he tried to cross the street. The accident victim, a 61-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but died during the night.
The public prosecutor's office was informed and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. In addition, the vehicle involved in the accident was confiscated on the orders of the public prosecutor, an accident report was drawn up and the driver's license of the driver involved in the accident was confiscated for the time being.
