In the early hours of Sunday morning, a 40-year-old motorist lost their life in a road traffic accident on the A6 motorway near the Steinfort exit.
The accident happened shortly after 03:00 when the motorist, described as a 40-year-old Polish citizen, was driving towards Belgium.
Emergency services were dispatched immediately to the scene of the accident; however, the driver was decalred dead at the scene.
According to the Grand Ducal Police, the driver lost control of his vehicle for reasons that are still unclear. The vehicle he was driving crashed head-on into an earth bank.
The public prosecutor ordered a forensic investigation to be undertaken to establish the cause of the accident.
