A commemorative ceremony will be organised in Esch-sur-Alzette this Saturday 27 January 2024, on the International Day dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust.
Luxembourg’s Prime Minister, Luc Frieden, will participate in the ceremony. Luxembourg’s Ministry of State and the Second World War Memorial Service noted that the United Nations General Assembly chose the date of 27 January, the day of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945, to mark the International Day dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust.
