The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a tragic accident occurred in Berdorf on the afternoon of Sunday 2 July 2023.
A nine-year-old boy fell several metres into the gorge near the “Teufelsinsel” viewing platform in the Mullerthal region and suffered serious injuries. Rescue services and an emergency doctor treated the boy, but he died on-site despite rescue efforts.
The public prosecutor’s office commissioned the relevant police department with an investigation. The Grand Ducal Police reported that the victim’s family members are receiving psychological support from the Groupe de Support Psychologique (GSP).
