Their Royal Highnesses Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg and Princess Stéphanie, Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg have announced the birth of their second child.
According to a statement issued by the Marshall of the Grand Ducal Court, Princess Stéphanie gave birth to a baby boy at the Maternité Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in Luxembourg on Monday 27 March 2023 at 10:04. At the time of his birth, he weighed 3.575 kg and measured 53 cm.
The royal couple will name their newborn son François Henri Luis Marie Guillaume.
According to the Marshall of the Court, both Princess Stéphanie and Prince François are "healthy and well".
Prince François has one older brother, Prince Charles, who was born on 10 May 2020.
The Marshall of the Court has announced that the birth of Prince Guillaume and Princess Stéphanie's second child will be greeted by a 21-round gun salute fired from the Fetschenhaff.
The Maison du Grand-Duc is offering members of the public the following possibilities to congratulate the royal couple on this occasion: by sharing a message on the digital register of congratulations on monarchie.lu; by signing a book of congratulations at the guardhouse of the Grand Ducal Palace (Rue du Rost), from Tuesday 28 to Thursday 30 March 2023, from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 17:00; by post to Palais grand-ducal, B.P. 331, L-2013 Luxembourg.
The Hereditary Grand Ducal couple have also expressed their wish to support the Fondation Lëtzebuerger Kannerduerf (SOS Children's Village Luxembourg). SOS Kannerduerf accompanies children, young people and families in demanding life situations and helps children and young people to grow up in a protected environment and become independent and responsible adults.
