Luxembourg's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has confirmed that Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn is currently in hospital following an influenza (flu) infection.

The ministry reported in a statement that Luxembourg's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs was hospitalised during the night of Sunday 26 to Monday 27 February 2023 following an influenza type A infection. Symptomatic treatment is being administered at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL).

The minister's trips for the next few days have been cancelled and will be postponed to a later date.
