Yellow Warning for Strong Wind, Floods Extended

Luxembourg's weather portal, MeteoLux, has extended its nationwide yellow weather warning in relation to strong winds and heavy rain this weekend.

A yellow warning (representing "potential danger") for rain is in place across the Grand Duchy from 07:00 on Saturday 14 January until 07:00 on Sunday 15 January 2023.

According to MeteoLux, cumulative rain may reach 20 to 30 l/m² in a 24-hour period, especially in the west and south-west of the country.

Similarly, a yellow warning for strong wind is in place across the country from 15:00 on Saturday until 04:00 on Sunday. Strong wind with gusts between 65 and 70 km/h, accompanied by moderate rain showers, is expected during this time.

Moreover, the Water Management Authority has extended its nationwide flood warning for all of Luxembourg, from 07:00 on Saturday until 01:00 on Monday 16 January 2023. Further information is available on the website www.inondations.lu.
