Accidnet in the Renö Konen Tunnel;

On Thursday 29 December 2022, the Police Grand Ducale have confirmed details of a serious traffic accident that took place early this morning in the René Konen tunnel in Luxembourg-ville, that runs under the Cité Judiciaire.
At around 06:20, according to initial information, a driver drove through the one-way tunnel in the wrong direction, causing an accident with two other vehicles.
The driver of the vehicle that was traveling in the wrong direction was seriously injured. A second driver and another injured person were taken to the hospital. As a result of this initial accident, a second minor rear-end collision occurred between two vehicles that were also driving in the tunnel at the time of the accident.
The police forensics team were dispatched to the scene of the accident. Three cars were confiscated by order of the public prosecutor. The tunnel is closed due to the clearance work.
