Many areas of Luxembourg work to freezing conditions on Monday 19 December 2022, with black ice (otherwise known as freezing rain) occuring in many parts of the country, particularly in the west.

Although temperatures over the past few days had dropped down as far as -8C, temperatures rose to slightly above 0C as the sun rose; however, moisture in the air, with light rain falling, constibuted to layers of ice forming and creating hazardous conditions for both pedestrians and motorists.
