At 01:29 this morning, Sunday 11 December 2022, Luxembourg's emergency services responded to a call (from a passing police patrol) that there was a fire at the Christmas Market on the Place de la Consitition, just off the Boulevard FD Roosevelt in Luxembourg city centre.
One of the Christmas market stands had caught fire.
Fire brigade units arrived on the scene extinguished the blaze which had also damaged nearby market stands and a Christmas tree. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
The Grand Ducal Police have opened an investigation into cause of the fire.
The Christmas market at the Place de la Constitution will be closed today, Sunday.
