On Saturday 8 October 2022, the  Luxembourg European Association of Performing Arts (LEAPA) - a section of the Cercle Culturel of the European Institutions in Luxembourg - held a table quiz at the Kaemoff Kohler restaurant in Contern, with the team “Older but not Necessarily Wiser” coming out on top at the end of the evening.

Between courses of a sumptuous 4-course meal, the seven teams were subjected to eleven rounds of questions by Quizmaster Geoff Thompson. Before starting, however, the teams had to think up a team name (some creative thinking was applied by some of teams) and also had to select their Joker round - on which their points would be doubled.

The quiz paused after five rounds for the starters and main courses to be served. At this stage, “Clever Clogs” were in the lead; however, they had already plated their joker but most teams still had theirs in hand. They were overtaken in the second half of the evening and eventually finished in second place, with Older but not Necessarily Wiser having a 6-point lead at the end.

With 80 questions in total, the rounds covered some standard topics - such as Geography, History, Literature and Sport - but also contained others such as Mythology and People.

The next such Table Quiz in the international anglophone community takes place this coming Thursday 13 October, organised by the Ireland Stand at the International Bazaar, with a Green Pub Quiz (previously called the Nature Quiz) being a week later, on Thursday 20 October, organised by Narur & Emwelt.
