Luxembourg's Customs and Excise Agency has confirmed that its sniffer dogs helped detect cocaine near the Luxembourg-Germany border at the end of last year.

In mid-November 2021, the anti-drug and sensitive substances unit of the Customs and Excise Agency managed to arrest a drug courier who was driving from the Netherlands to Germany (in a car registered in Germany). Customs seized more than a kilogram of cocaine.

During another check in mid-December 2021, sniffer dog Balto helped customs identify a drug dealer who wanted to take the train to Luxembourg. The drug dealer was carrying a total of  29 ready-to-sell cocaine packages.

In both cases, the prohibited sustances were confiscated by order of the Luxembourg public prosecutor's office. The drug courier was arrested and brought before the examining magistrate.
