The twelfth edition of the IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg Remich - Région Moselle race took place in Remich on Sunday 13 July 2025.
According to the organisers, around 3,000 age-group athletes took on the challenge of the IRONMAN 70.3 course, which included a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride and a 21.1 km run.
The 1.9 km swim took place in the Moselle, from where the 90 km bike course led along the banks of the river towards Grevenmacher, passing vineyards and offering a touch of history as athletes rode past the Schengen Monument, commemorating the 1985 Schengen Agreement. The final 21.1 km run led participants along a circuit along the Moselle riverside promenade in Remich before they could receive their hard-earned medals at the finish.
In the men’s race, Belgium’s Ben De Wolf claimed victory with a time of 4:07:22. He was followed by Switzerland’s Geoffroy Bagnoud (4:10:37) and the United States’ Luke Creger (4:10:38), who took second and third place, respectively.
In the women’s race, Germany swept the podium: Hella Haak took first place with a time of 4:31:45, followed by compatriot Anna Kaumanns in second (4:37:06) and Denise Hiemann in third (4:39:42).
The Luxembourg middle-distance triathlon championship was also held as part of the IRONMAN 70.3 Remich - Région Moselle. Anne Reiser claimed the national women’s title with a time of 4:49:37, followed by Sophie Margue in second place (5:05:48) and Laura Grober in third (5:16:50).
In the men’s category, Moris Brust won the national title in 4:17:22, shaving five minutes off his time from last year. Adrien Rossignon finished second in 4:19:15, while Leo Diswiscour completed the podium in 4:23:21.
British chef and television personality Gordon Ramsay was among the participants at this year’s IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg Remich - Région Moselle, completing the race in a time of 06:52:28. “Super excited to be back, what an incredible race and well organised. From this time a year ago, it's a dream come true. Looking forward to more races to come,” he stated after crossing the finish line.
According to the organisers, Ramsay completed the 1.9 km swim in the Moselle in 42:41 before taking on the 90 km bike course, which included approximately 750 metres of elevation. He finished the cycling leg in 04:10:18. The chef then tackled the flat 21.1 km run along the river, cheered on by crowds as he made his way across the red carpet and through the finish arch.
