On Wednesday 24 February 2021, Marc Hansen, Luxembourg's Minister Delegate for Digitalisation, met with Michael O'Flaherty, Director of the European Union (EU) Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), during the latter's working visit to the Grand Duchy.

Minister Delegate Marc Hansen and Michael O'Flaherty discussed Luxembourg's advances in the digital field. Marc Hansen notably addressed the efforts of the Ministry of Digitalisation to advance eGovernment by offering digital services adapted to the needs of citizens. He underlined the essential role played by the Guichet.lu and MyGuichet.lu portals in this context. He and Mr O'Flaherty also discussed Luxembourg's GovTech Lab, which combines GovTech and open innovation to accelerate the development and refinement of digital public services. The Minister Delegate then emphasised the importance of digital inclusion, another strategic focus of the ministry.

For his part, Michael O'Flaherty noted the strong potential of digitalisation for humanity and insisted on the proper use of artificial intelligence (AI), whose impact on society must be considered in the respect of human rights.
