The Grand-Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (Corps grand-ducal d'incendie et de secours - CGDIS) reported that around 50 firefighters gathered in Place d'Armes in Luxembourg-Ville on Monday evening to put out a large fire.
At around 19:00 on Monday 15 February 2021, approximately 50 firefighters from four fire and rescue centres were mobilised to put out a fire that broke out in Place d'Armes. According to the CGDIS, the fire initially started in the kitchen of a dwelling in a five-storey building.
The firefighters received assistance from the operational technological support group (drone specialty) as well as a health officer dispatched to the site.
The fire was brought under control at 21:30.
Two people received medical attention and were taken to the on-duty clinic for a check-up following smoke inhalation.
