The Grand Ducal Police has reported that a motorist has been arrested in Trier, Germany, following a high-speed chase on the A1 motorway during which the motorist repeatedly rammed a Luxembourg police vehicle.
The incident happened at around 01:00 in the early hours of Saturday morning. At the Val de Hamm, a Luxembourg police patrol became suspicious of a German-registered car.
When the officers attempted to check the car, the driver accelerated immediately and fled in the direction of the A1 motorway to Trier. During the chase, the motorist tried several times to push the police away by ramming the patrol car. In the end, the car was stopped thanks to what was described as a well-coordinated collaboration with the German police in Trier.
It turned out that the driver was over the drink-driving alcohol limit; the German police arrested him.
