On Friday 5 February 2021, the College of Burgomasters and Aldermen of Luxembourg city welcomed Teresa Casado Gutierrez to the Hotel de Ville (town hall) on the Place Guillaume II; she became the 125,000th inhabitant of the city to have registered at the Bierger-Center. 

On this occasion, a small gift was presented to Mrs. Casado Gutierrez to mark this important step for the capital city in terms of demographic growth.

Mayor Lydie Polfer explained “Our dynamic city is undergoing rapid development and the number of inhabitants continues to increase. Located in the heart of Europe, our capital has many assets, such as its human size, its multiculturality, its accessibility, its parks and forests inviting relaxation or its infrastructures for families, children and young people, which help to offer to our citizens a high quality of life. Together with our various municipal services, we strive every day to make our city even more user-friendly and we listen to the inhabitants in order to meet the real needs of a growing population."
