Between 26 December 2020 and 3 January 2021, the Grand Ducal Police carried out a total of around 400 checks across Luxembourg to ensure compliance with COVID-19 measures.
Around 75% of these checks concerned the curfew in place between 21:00 and 06:00. The police also focussed on compliance with the sanitary measures in shops and during public and private gatherings.
A total of 215 individuals received fines, mostly for having disregarded the curfew. In 22 cases, the police issued fines mainly because minors had broken the rules.
