The Grand Ducal Police carried out around 300 checks across Luxembourg last week to ensure compliance with COVID-19 measures, namely regarding the curfew and gatherings.

During these checks, police officers issued a total of 160 fines to individuals, most of whom had violated the curfew (between 23:00 and 06:00). A further twelve cases related to non-compliance with the sanitary regulations.

On Monday 7 December 2020, several people were caught consuming drinks inside a grocery store in Esch-sur-Alzette without keeping the necessary distance and without a mask.

In another case, shortly after midnight on Sunday 13 December 2020, police officers broke up a party with over 100 guests in private accommodation in Rodange. The homeowner received a fine.

The Grand Ducal Police will continue to carry out checks nationwide.
