Luxembourg's Customs and Excise Agency has issued a warning concerning the circulation of fake emails in its name.
The Customs and Excise Agency reported that it has recently been made aware of a number of people receiving an email informing them that their shipment is blocked by customs. In order to release the said package, they are invited to pay fees. This email reportedly comes from a sender presented as the Customs Service.
The Customs and Excise Agency has advised the public that it never sends emails to recipients of packages inviting them to settle customs duties.
In the meantime, the agency has filed a complaint with the Grand Ducal Police. On the latter's recommendation, those who have responded to the email are asked to change their password and report the incident to the police.
