Luxembourg City is running an anti-fur awareness campaign, in collaboration with PETA France, over the coming weeks.

An awareness campaign against the use of fur is taking over the streets of the Luxembourg capital until 16 December 2018. During the campaign, buses featuring anti-fur posters will travel through the city on line 275, the route connecting the Limpertsberg district in the city centre to the Kopstal municipality, as well as Mersch train station.

The campaign was funded by two individuals, Anselme Pau and Dany Unger and some friends, all affected by the cruelty inflicted on animals killed for their fur. On their aims, Pau and Unger commented: "We hope this campaign will educate a lot of people and inspire them to never buy fur."

PETA, who leads the campaign and whose motto states that "animals do not belong to us and that we do not have to use them for our clothes", has also highlighted that many major brands have committed themselves to no longer using animal fur, such as Versace, Armani, Gucci, Burberry, and most recently, Jean Paul Gaultier. And yet, many individuals continue to buy from brands using real fur, notably Canada Goose, hence the need for this campaign.
