A series of initiatives promoting the Luxembourgish language have been introduced in the Grand Duchy in recent months.

Firstly, in February and March 2018, the Luxembourg Ministry of Education, Children and Youth organised four meetings for residents to have the chance to get actively involved in the development of the Luxembourgish language. At the same time, citizens could submit their ideas online and exchange them with others.

Moreover, over 150 interested individuals have actively participated in the language course and more than 100 proposals are required to contribute to the support of Luxembourgish on the webside mentioned above.

The 40 measures taken by the Government in this context can be found in the leaflet "Citizens, Society, Politics - Collaborating on the Luxembourgish Language" (Luxembourgish: “Bierger, Gesellschaft, Politik – Zesummen d’Lëtzebuerger Sprooch fërderen“). The leaflet details the Government's measures from their strategy paper linked to the social statements of a TNS Ilres survey as well as the proposals and solutions put forth by citizens on the subject of promoting the Luxembourgish language.
