The Grand Ducal Police have confirmed that the body of a 42 year-old man was discovered near Goeblange on Thursday evening.
The grim discovery was made at around 20:45 after a search had been initiated in the mid afternoon for a missing person. A number of police patrols were involved in the search, as well as representatives from the canine unit and the police helicopter.
In the early evening, the lifeless body of the man was located outside the village. According to initial investigations, nobody else is being sought in relation to the death of the man.
In order to investigate the exact cause of death, the public prosecutor's office has requested an autopsy.
