The College of the Mayor and Aldermen of Luxembourg City yesterday inaugurated the redesigned Place du Théâtre, located close to the Théâtre des Capucins and Côte d'Eich.
The square has been redesigned to offer citizens and visitors a space for entertainment and relaxation, and for children an additional play area, all with the aim of revitalising the site.
Indeed, the square has been partially covered with a synthetic grass to make it greener. Two benches with a length of 4 provided by the Natural Heritage Department of the City of Luxembourg, as well as chairs convertible into deckchairs and two multifunctional outdoor beds were also installed on the square.
Concerning leisure facilities, the renovated square offers a free bookcase accessible 24/7, a 12x3m petanque track, a piano and board games. In this context, the "Spillmobil", led by Caritas Jeunes & Familles, will offer board games on the following dates: 01/09, 03/09, 07/09, 13/09, 14/09 and 15/09/2018. Moreover, as part of "Kanner in the City", the interactive installation "Who killed my rabbit?" will be operational on 27 and 28 July 2018.
