An official memorial service for the late Luxembourg Secretary of State for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, Camille Gira, will take place on 2 June 2018.

Following the death of Secretary of State Camille Gira, on 16 May 2018, an official ceremony in memory of the deceased will be held this Saturday in the courtyard of the Ministry of State. In attendance at the service will be Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Mars Di Bartolomeo, Prime Minister and Minister of State Xavier Bettel and members of the Gira family.

Other participants will include members of the Chamber of Deputies, the Government and the Diplomatic Corps, political leaders of the Greater Region, as well as public and private actors active in climate protection, the environment and sustainable energy.

The ceremony, organised by the government, will feature speeches by Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and President of the Déi Gréng political party Christian Kmiotek, as well as musical accompaniment by musicians of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, followed by the unveiling of a commemorative plaque affixed in front of a tree planted in the courtyard to honour the memory of the late Camille Gira.

A minute of silence in honour of the deceased Secretary of State will also be observed.
