This year’s Diversity Day, held on Thursday 17 May, coincides with the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO).

On 17 May 1990, the World Health Organisation (WHO) removed homosexuality from its list of mental illnesses. Since then, the date has been chosen for the IDAHO which fights against homophobia and transphobia.

And yet, according to a survey published by the European Fundamental Rights Agency in 2015, in Luxembourg only 29% of people speak openly about their sexual orientation to their colleagues and 12% to their customers.

Therefore, the 2018 edition of Diversity Day provides the opportunity for different organisations to collaborate and address the theme of sexual orientation or gender identity.
