Luxembourg food safety authorities have been informed by Cora supermarkets of the recall of Lactalis Milumel Bio Baby Milk due to the presence of salmonella.

The products have been marketed in Luxembourg in the Cora Foetz store. The products were withdrawn from the sale in the store concerned, but some was already sold to the consumer.

Foodborne illness caused by salmonella causes gastrointestinal disturbances, often accompanied by fever within 48 hours after consumption of contaminated products. These symptoms can be aggravated in young children.

The Luxembourg food safety authorities thus recommend that consumers stop using the following products for infants:

Name: Milumel Bio

Brand: Lactel

Unit: 900 g

Date of durability: 27.04.2018; 05/24/2018; 09/12/2018; 06/01/2019; 03/02/2019

Lot number: 17C0012686; 17C0012844; 17C0012965; 17C0013595; 17C0013733

Origin: France

If symptoms of gastroenteritis should occur in infants who have consumed this product, consult a physician immediately and report the consumption of a product contaminated with salmonella.

Given the scale of recalls in France, a wider distribution cannot be ruled out at the moment.
