At the beginning of the flood season and with the significant rainfall of the last days, the Administration of Water Management (Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure / Department of the Environment) has announced that it has relaunched its flood information website (www.inondations.lu) which went online in October 2017.
The site's mission is to provide continuously measured water levels on Luxembourg's rivers, as well as flood forecasts and additional information during the flood warning phase.
Initially launched in 2008, www.inondations.lu was developed in collaboration with the flood forecasting service of Rhineland-Palatinate. However, the technical means of the site structure no longer made it possible to cover the current needs of flexibility in terms of updating and data management, which led to the creation of a brand new site.
The new site www.inondations.lu has a modern design, is easy to use and offers more information to users and interested in hydrometry, including details on flow statistics and methods of work of the Hydrometry Department.
The new site also allows users to subscribe to flood reports sent in the event of a situation of vigilance and flooding, and includes a mobile version to facilitate access from a smartphone or tablet.
