15 Road Accidents in 24 Hours involving Deer, Wild Boar, Badgers

Over the course of 24 hours between 30 and 31 October 2017, a total of 15 wildlife-related road accidents took place in Luxembourg.

During this time, one boar was hit by a car between Kockelscheuer and Livange, another was run over between Mondercange and Limpach, a badger was run over in Erpeldingen and two vehicles collided with a horde of wild boars on the N10 between Bech-Kleinmacher and Schengen.

Further incidents included a deer being hit by a car between Heiderscheid and Niederfeulen, the car being so damaged it had to be towed. Another deer was hit between Clervaux and Mecher. The animal broke its legs and had to be put down. Moreover, a fox was run over between Simmerschmelz and Roodt / Eisch, another boar was hit by car, but disappeared into the forest after the collision between Luxembourg and Leidelange, and another boar was found dead on the A3 in Berchem.

Another badger was found dead and lying by the motorway exit in Koerich, one deer was hit by a car between Buschdorf and Openthalt and another was found lying dead on the roadside between Kaundorf and Esch-Alzette.

The last cases involved a boar having been run over at the N1 Potaschberg-Grevenmacher, a deer kicked off on the Bettembourg-Hellange route and another deer run over on the CR322 in the Putscheid area.
