On Monday 16 October, Romain Schneider, Luxemourg's Minister of Social Security, and Gilles Feith, the director of the Centre for Data Technology announced new functions for medical insurance on MyGuichet.lu, explaining that these updates are the first steps taken to enhance the services provided to their clients.
As of now, CNS clients may view online versions of the breakdown of the reimbursement payments for illnesses and maternity, as well as consult their personal details. They may also take the first steps to apply for provisional replacement certificates for European social security, apply for a certificate of co-insurance and change their bank details (regarding reimbursements).
Authentication is required using a LuxTrust product or an eID card to guarantee a high level of security when connecting to the MyGuichet.lu secure personal area. This authentication is essential to apply for, and receive refunds, via MyGuichet.lu. To do this, simply activate eDelivery. Then an email notification feature that informs you of the details of the refund on MyGuichet.lu where it can then be consulted in PDF format.
The on-line delivery of these services is in line with the desire to modernise the information services and to simplify the relations between the insured and their insurer. It is the result of a collaboration between the CNS, the public sector sickness funds, the Joint Social Security Center (CCSS) and the Center for Information Technology (CTIE). Other features will be added to the MyGuichet.lu portal in the future.
