The Hygiene Service of the Ville de Luxembourg has informed residents of the city that they will collect Christmas trees during January, according to the following:

- natural Christmas trees (firs) that have been dyed with spray and / or decoration will be removed during the weekly household refuse collections;

- natural Christmas trees (firs) that are not dyed with spray, and are without decoration, will be collected separately, also on the day of collection of household refuse, or even the following day, with a view to their composting.

In both cases, it is sufficient to place the fir tree on the pavement or at the edge of the property before 06:00 on the day of collection of household refuse (the schedule by street can be consulted online at www.vdl.lu, under the heading "Citizens and residents / Waste and cleanliness").

Residents should note that firs measuring more than two metres must be shortened by cutting them in the middle.

It is also possible to give the Christmas trees back to the recycling centre on the Rouet d'Arlon (open Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 19:30; Saturday from 08:30 to 18:00).
