On Monday 13 June 2016, Minister of Justice, Félix Braz, conducted the inauguration of the new President of the Cour Supérieure de Justice and the new President of the Constitutional Court, Jean-Claude Wiwinius.
Mr. Wiwinius was appointed by the Grand Ducal Decrees of 12 April 2016 and 30 May 2016, respectively. He will take office from 2 August 2016.
Since 2012, Jean-Claude Wiwinius has been a judge at the Constitutional Court of Luxembourg having taught civil procedure and private international law to persons looking to qualify as barristers in Luxembourg. A law graduate of the University of Paris I, Mr. Wiwinius has also been Vice-President of the Cour Supérieure de Justice and a judge at the Court of Cassation since November 2015.
As part of the small ceremony at the Ministry of Justice, Félix Braz thanked Georges Santer, current President of the Cour Supérieure de Justice and President of the Constitutional Court, who will hold office until 2 August 2016 when he leaves for retirement.
