After a large-scale anti-drug police operation in Luxembourg City last week, during which more than 1 kg of heroin was confiscated and several suspects arrested, the fight against the country's drug network continued on Thursday, this time in Echternach.
Around forty police officers were involved in the major operation which led to the arrest of five people. On the order of the examining magistrate in Diekirch, several searches were conducted and drugs were seized.
A police report issued around 17:00 on Thursday afternoon described the investigation as "ongoing".
