Luxembourg police have appealed for witnesses after an unknown suspect stole several items of a jewellery from a glass cabinet in a shopping centre along Route d'Arlon in Bertrange.
The man, who was described to be between 1.60 and 1.70 metres tall, round, with an unshaven face and a fair complexion, was caught in the act by employees as he stole several watches from a glass cabinet outside a jewellery shop at 14:40 on Wednesday 11 May 2016. When the staff attempted to intervene, they were pushed aside by the perpetrator, who headed for a stairwell. He was followed there by a female employee, where he lost one of the stolen watches and the pursuit ended.
The shopping centre is likely to be La Belle Étoile, although this has not been stated in the police report. The man was said to be wearing a dark baseball cap, a black, short jacket with a zip, dark trousers and black and grey trainers at the time of the incident.
Customers who were at the shopping centre at the time in question and are able to give more information are invited to contact the Capellen police department at 4997-3500.
