The police responded to a bomb threat to the town centre in Echternach on Tuesday 5 April 2016.
At approximately 16:00 a man called the police station and reported that there was a bomb in the town centre in Echternach. After evacuating the location police discovered that the threat was not real.
The public prosecutor in Diekirch ordered the arrest of the man who called in the threat for falsifying a bomb alarm, according to Article 319 of the Penal Code.
Security measures around the station were lifted at 17:30.
