On Thursday lunchtime, the Association de Soutien aux Travailleurs Immigres asbl (ASTI) organised a show of solidarity in Luxembourg city centre to express solidarity with the victims of the recent terrorist attacks.
The gathering, which had been initiated by a group of refugees in the Grand Duchy, has used the following text to call for support in soladarity with the victims of recent terrorist attacks: "Together we want to show our solidarity with the victims, express our indignation and recall our commitment to human rights".
The event passed off peacefully and included the reading of a stement in English, French and Arabic, as follows: "Call for solidarity against terrorism - Together! We meet today at the initiative of some refugees who addressed ASTI to show their solidarity with the victims of terrorism. We all stand in solidarity and condemn the terrorist acts of violence that take place in Europe in the Middle East or in another place in the world. We refuse that some try to assimilate refugees or migrants to terrorism. The refugees present here want to remember they fled their victim countries, like in Europe, from barbarism. We all lead a single fight!!! Together we express our solidarity with the victims, express our indignation and reiterate our commitment to human rights."
