Red Bridge Works Entering 2nd Phase

The second phase of works on the Pont Rouge (Red Bridge) linking Luxembourg city and Kirchberg is now about to get underway.

According to Luxembourg's Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructures, the first phase of the rehabilitation and transformation of the Pont Grand Duchess Charlotte is now completed. The second phase of work will begin this Saturday 26 March 2016.

This second phase requires a reorganisation of the flow of traffic across the bridge. The two lanes in the direction of Kirchberg will be moved to the middle of the bridge while the two lanes carrying traffic in the direction of the city centre will be maintained on the north side. Traffic flows will be maintained during the changeover and appropriate signage will be in place.
