Seven people were injured in two separate traffic accidents that took place over the weekend in the Esch/Alzette region.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, a motorist lost control of his vehicle at the Raemerich roundabout, crashing into a tree and flipping over. The driver sustained life-threatening injuries, whilst his passenger was also seriously injured. It was later found that the vehicle involved was not registered and had been driven in contradiction to a court ban.

Just before 06:00 on Sunday 20 March 2016, a car coming from the direction of Esch/Alzette and attempting to go through the Biff roundabout underpass in Bascharage collided head-on with another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction, with both cars totalled and five people injured. The section of the A13 involved was completely closed during the cleanup. The offending driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
