Today, Wednesday 16 March 2016, AirBsit is being launched in the Grand Duchy; AirBsit is described as the app bringing back flexibility in parents' lives by organising their babysittings in an easy way.
The app was first launched 4 months ago in Brussels. After convincing over 27,000 users in Belgium and opening in Amsterdam last week, airBsit, the collaborative baby-sitting app, has now arrived in Luxembourg.
“The trouble that parents come across to find a baby-sittter in Belgium are universal and our ambition is to make life easier for all parents!”, explained Donatienne van Houtryve, working mother and one of the founders. “There are intermediate solutions, like closed Facebook groups for example, but these do not have the power of an app in terms of proximity, mobility and confidentiality. We wanted to combine technology with word-to-mouth to create an open and efficient process”.
The app bases itself on the recommendations of parent friends and their contacts, in order for the parents to extend their network of trusted and nearby sitters. “What’s important, when you want your children being looked after, is trust”, stressed Géraldine Biebuyck, the other founder. “In a world where collaborative solutions extend their influence, airBsit has found its place”.
Wherever they are, baby-sitters are automatically notified of the parents’ demands and can respond in a few clicks. In a few minutes, parents and baby-sitters find each other and organise their evening. “We already have over 100 baby-sitters available in Luxemburg City and around. And this number grows every day”.
Another advantage of this app is payment by card. “No need to look for cash when coming back home anymore, as airBsit offers a fully automated and secure payment system”.
Downloading the app is free; it is available on the App Store and on Google Play. There is no charge for the baby-sitter, the parents only pay the equivalent of 15 additional minutes, regardless of the legth of the sitting.
The airBsit has collectively been set up by Dimitri De Boose (CEO), Guillaume Ialipetre (CTO), James Cogels (Art Director) and Valentine De Cort (Illustrator).
