Two women have been arrested on suspicion of robbing an elderly resident of a nursing home in Mersch on Wednesday 9 March 2016.
The two perpetrators approached the elderly woman in a nursing home along rue du Colmar-Berg under the pretence of asking her to participate in a signature campaign for disabled children. During the conversation, one of the women tried to steal the necklace of the elderly resident, and after the offenders had left the home it was discovered that a small amount of money had been stolen from a bag.
An investigation was immediately launched and the two women were found in a department store in Mersch after being recognised. The two suspects were subsequently arrested and are now reportedly in custody in Schrassig.
