Luxembourg's food safety agencies have warned against consuming a certain Oxfam Fairtrade organic nougat product after a 1.5 cm piece of wire was found in one of the company's bars.

Oxfam's 30g Fairtrade organic nougat bars were circulated in Luxembourg through supermarkets and by the Terra Roxa company to associations to be distributed in St. Nicolas sacks. The product has been withdrawn from sale but a portion were already sold, prompting Luxembourg food safety authorities to advise the public against consuming the product.

It is only the 30g bars with a minimum durability of 7 October 2016 and 8 October 2016 which are concerned, and all other products are thought to be safe to consume.

It has not been reported how the piece of wire wound up in the bar.
